first check for a clogged fuel filter then look at the fuel pump.
I would suspect either a loose connection or a corroded battery terminal.
call the guys on car talk.
Bad fuel pump overheating, bad ignition coil overheating.
Sounds like it may be a virus. Try staring the computer up in safe mode and run a virus scan and see if that is the problem.
While driving my car died. The check engine, brake and battery light all came on. It did restart after about 10 minutes and died again 10 minutes later after idling for about 5 minutes. What would cause this? You have to take your car to a shop that can read the obdII fault codes. And then take it from there ...
a bit of a lot of minutes
Is it time (40 minutes), or temperature, which determined when it would die? I once had a severe problem with my '90 apv 3.1 where it would die, and not restart until it had cooled sufficiently (15-20 minutes). Turned out to be a bad ignition module.
I would check your fuel filter...
