If a 2001 Cadillac DeVille shakes when the car is idle, there could be an issue with the powertrain. There could also be a problem with the crankshaft position sensor.

First you must check the ISC motor ( idle speed control) operation. Its located by the throttle body. It controls idle and high idle speeds. Good luck
Either your fuel is burning too rich or you have an idle censor out. new idle censor's are not expensive
very simple just 2 bolts phillip head screw driver sit right o top of the motor.
Check your battery connections, engine ground wire, and starter connections.
The ISP Idle Speed Control controls the speed of the engine and may need to be replaced.It is located top front of the engine next to air intake and has a stop screw sticking out that sets the idle electronically. The clicking is normal and is probably coming from the ISP . My 95 Deville has clicked since it was new.
Generally, most computer controlled TBI engines CAN't be adjusted for idle speed. If idle is too fast, check for vacuum leaks. A broken vacuum line, loose EGR valve or a damaged manifold or throttle body gasket are typical candidates.
