Check your air cleaner element and the housing, a mouse made a home in mine and my gas mileage was terrible. Clean it out and vacuum everything, make sure to look everywhere.
possibly miss firing due to valve gasket needs to be place oild getting into spark plug holes cause a missfire change your plugs and if there is oil all over the sparkplug cap then u need a valve cover gasket i had the same problem just cleaning and changing plugs help have 2 wait to do the valve cover gasket this week this is just normal pt cruisers are bad on gas i get 17 mpg on premium gas 2004 GT 40k miles
