Could be a vaccuum leak, or maybe an idle problem. Depending on what motor you have wether a v-8 or a straight 6. The straight 6 might have a idle stop solenoid that predetermines the idle, but the v-8 if original should have a series of adjustment screws and one on the throttle linkage that allows your to change the idle by tightening the screw, also check your timing along with idle changes to make sure its set properly. There should be a sticker with all the timing info on the core support or check online according to your motor size
idle speed motor on the throttle body.
The answer is yes! I had one. 307 engine with a V-8, "three on the tree" manual shift, rear wheel drive. Surprisingly fast!
It will overheat at idle.It will overheat at idle.

On VWs, the Idle Air Bypass Valve is generally referred to as the Idle Stabilizer Valve (ISV). The ISV is designed to maintain a steady idle speed. It is mounted on top of the cam cover on mk2/A2 8v Golfs.
84 and 85 cutlass's came with olds 307 small blocks. and others came with V-6's. now an olds 307 will slide right into a 72 cutlass (i have one also (: as long as the cutlass was a v-8 (olds 350 rocket and olds 455's were the v-8s that came in the 72's.) so yes the bolt pattern on the tranny and the engine mounts will all match up with the 307 if the 72.
Your Honda CR-V may stall while idling due to several reasons, including a faulty idle air control valve, a clogged fuel filter, or issues with the fuel injectors. Additionally, problems with the battery or alternator can affect the electrical system, leading to stalling. A vacuum leak or a malfunctioning mass airflow sensor could also disrupt the air-fuel mixture, causing the engine to stall. It's advisable to have a mechanic diagnose the issue to ensure proper repairs.
The Impala came standard with a 307 V-8 Small block, same with the SS option. Biscayne and Belair had a stock 250 cu in straight 6.
The idle adjustment screw is located on the IACV behind the manifold on a 1998 Honda CR-V. Open the latch on the IACV then take an screwdriver and tighten the adjustment screw.
Every 1980 through 1984 Oldsmobile Ninety-Eight had a 5 liter (307 cu. in. Oldsmobile) V-8 with Rochester QuadraJet (4 barrel) carb.
