How do you littter box train a rabbit?

Easy. I have a rabbit. If you're putting it out on the floor, all you have to do is keep showing it where the litter box is, and keep putting them in it every 5 minutes, ad rub your rabbits paws in it every time you put your rabbit in the litter. HOPE THIS HELPS!

What can you train a miniature baby rabbit?

You can train rabbit to use the litter box. First, make the bedding and litter a different material. Example: I use corncob litter which is gravelly and rough and for bedding I use newspaper which is softer. Next, put the litter box in the corner. (Rabbits are tidy animals and prefer to use the toilet somewhere else). Also, you can train your rabbit to come when you call his name. First, call his name when your near him. Next, when it is all quiet and your rabbit is about 5 feet away, call his name. If he comes, give him a treat and say praising words. Practice this multiple times until he does it all the time!

Are pine shavings safe for your netherland dwarf rabbit?

I've learned that pine shavings are not the best litter for any pet rabbit. The strong odor is hard on them and can cause them breathing problems. I switched all my bunnies to care fresh litter, and this has worked well for whatever breed of bunny I've had, including my netherland dwarf rabbit. Hope this has been helpful. Pat

What is the best rabbit for an experienced owner?

No one can say what another's best rabbit is, because it all comes down to your preferences. But if you'd like a bit of a challenge and have a bit of extra money to throw around, I'd suggest getting an interesting and valued breed (like a Flemish Giant) or a pedigree rabbit, so you can show it.

How do you clean a rat cage?

Every day you should scoop out any turds that you see. Once a week you should throw out all the litter in the cage and wash and dry the cage. Then put in new litter.

How do you train a rabbit to go to the toilet?

Rabbits can be trained to use a litter box like cats, and you can use the same kind of litter box for both animals but you can't use the same kind of litter material. Cats use clay litters, and sometimes wheat litters, but these are both dangerous for rabbits. Rabbits must use a safe litter material like Carefresh, Yesterday's News, Boxo, etc. Many rabbits litter train easily: just give them a litter box and they will use it. Putting hay in the litter box encourages them to use it. Putting the litter box in an area where they already go to the toilet will also encourage them to use it. If your rabbit doesn't take to the litter box that easily, read the information on the website linked below for more ideas. If your rabbit is dribbling urine all over the place, that's a sign of illness and the rabbit should see a vet. See the related questions/links below for more information.

Do bunnies pee outside their cages?

The litter box should be inside the rabbit's cage. The rabbit should have access to the litter box at all times, otherwise he (or she) will never properly litter train and will soil his cage. You might want to put additional litter boxes outside the cage, for when he's allowed out. This is an especially good idea if your rabbit's allowed out in more than one room, or if you're in the process of litter training. However, always leave the main litter box inside the cage, in case your rabbit wants to run back there and use it.Many rabbit cages sold in stores are too small. The cage should fit the litter box and all other necessary supplies, and still leave enough room for your bunny to move around and stretch out.Make sure you use a safe litter material in the rabbit's box. Cat litter (clay litter) is dangerous for rabbits. Corn and wheat-based litters are not recommended, either, because if your bunny eats any of it (which is likely), it's unhealthy and can lead to illness. Safe litters include:Aspen wood chips or shavings; most sources say NOT to use pine or cedar, because these may be toxic to rabbitsCarefresh (store brand)Yesterday's news (store brand)Boxo (store brand)NewspaperStraw and/or hayWood stove pellets - make sure not to use the kind that includes accelerant or any other chemicals: just plain pellets!Put some hay in your rabbit's litter box. This will encourage good litter habits, because rabbits like to nibble as they use the washroom.See the related questions below for more info about rabbit care.

What does the word 'litter' mean if you are a rabbit?

Litter for a rabbit is the babies it gives birth to after being pregnant. Normally rabbits get from 3-12 kittens in every litter. Some rabbits like the Belgian Giant often only get one to two kittens in a litter. Other smaller rabbits can get up to 16-20 in some cases, but it is not normal for them all to live. 6-8 kittens may live and grow up, in some cases up to 10-12 but this is very rare.

How do you train a rabbit to listen to you?

Get to know your rabbit and be gentle with it let it run around and don't cage it all day

How do you clean a cat's litter box?

I would suggest that you should buy a scooper or a roll of plastic bags that you can use to remove any feces (poop) or urine (pee). Depending on the litter brand, you can flush the litter down the toilet (check packaging for litter) or throw it into the trash can. Every week or so, remove ALL of the litter, wash down the box with a soap with no dangerous ingredients that may be harmful to your cat and rinse it with water and dry it. Then, when it is all dry, fill it back up with two to three inches of the cat litter and you are done! Remember! Always keep the box as clean as you can! Would you like step in your own poop/pee every time you had to go to the bathroom?
