The condition is known as Type I insulin dependent diabetes mellitus.
Insulin is a hormone that causes cells to absorb and store glucose. When the body fails to produce sufficient insulin, or the insulin is ineffective, the body cannot store glucose, and can become lethargic. Diabetes is the name for the condition where insulin is not functioning properly.
Type 2 and 3 is a type of insulin dependent diabetes. Insulin is used in all forms of diabetes for treatment but in type 3 diabetes the body has no means to produce the insulin needed b the body and without continuous injections of the drug the body will shutdown.

The insulin is produced in the pancreas gland. This is situated in your abdomen, starting from the C shaped curve of the duodenum. It is placed horizontally. Pancreas contains Beta cells in islets of Langerhans. These cells produce insulin in your body.
Type 2 diabetics still produce the correct amount of insulin, there body just does not use it properly.
