At least inspect when you hear squeal. Base further work on what you see.
Maybe you hit the brakes by accident?

Do you have excessively worn brake linings? Thanks for the suggestion! I considered it but thought the brake linings would only squeal when braking? What I'm experiencing happens while I'm on the gas. Please let me know if I am mistaken. Thanks!
If you run out of gas on the highway you could be hit by another car. If you run out of gas just around a bend you could also be hit by another car or cause an accident whne another car swerves to avoid hitting you.
It sounds like you have a belt that slips when you take off. This will cause a high pitched squeal.
Your brakes are telling you they need replacing soon. They have a built in "squealer" designed to make a noise when the pad wear is nearing the end.
you might need a new belt I've got a old jeep that needs one and it squeals when you get up into higher rpms
Most likely a belt is slipping.
