This suggests to me that the poop in question may be too hard, and it therefore does not easily squeeze out of the anus. The obvious thing to try would be to change the dog's food. She may have greater success in digesting some other type of food that what you are now feeding her. If you are feeding her any cheese, that has to stop. Cheese makes poop harder.

Your dog can have a hard time with bowel movements for multiple reasons. Maybe it is constipated, or is straining due to diarrhea, maybe it has intestinal parasites, maybe its anal glands are full or abscessed, maybe it has Arthritis in its knees or hips and its painful to squat, maybe it has a tail injury. Its always best to consult a veterinarian in these situations, this could be a serious issue.

Excretion of wastes does not hurt your dog, however it may seem like that if it has been eating not recommended food products.
