a channel is when your watching TV you can switch to different stuff like first you were on Disney now you you want to go to nick you would have to switch channels

If you are on the channel that is being recorded, just change the channel and a message will pop up asking if you want to stop the recording - select Yes. You can go into the timer for the recording and stop it that way also by selecting Stop Recording.
