There is a good chance that the high limit protection is opening the circuit. If there is a blockage or if there is a fan in the system that is not turning on when it should, this could be why the high limit is opening the supply circuit.

If the breaker is tripping, the element in the fireplace could have shorted a few turns. When this happens the resistance of the fireplace element drops and a higher current is drawn by the unit. The current may be high enough to trip the supply breaker.

The fireplace must be having an upper limit cutoff (setpoint for safety). Either the temperature is reaching this limit in a minute or the temperature sensor is faulty. Get the temperature sensor checked.

Typically that will be an issue with the thermostat. Check the setting, and if it is where it should be, then thermostat will likely require replacement.
