the heater blows warm air when fan is on low but blows cold air when fan is turn to higher setting
To the best of my knowledge, there is no heater or outside air filter on the 1999 Ford Expedition, and Grease Monkey confirmed that when my Expedition (Eddie Bauer version) was in for service.
if youre trying to turn the heater on and cold air comes out, then its most likely the heater core
did the heater core start leaking? anyway you should have no problem with the air if you bypass the heater core.
Heat control is by air flow control doors in the a/c and heater box. There is no water valve.
could need a tune up.
heater core, tough job.take it to a qualified auto technician
NO. Bypass the heater core by connecting the Inlet & Outlet hoses going to the heater core together. Do not plug either hose.
Of course, set the heater/air conditioner temperature control to cold.
Of course it affects the air conditioning,,,it also affects the heater. Any time u have a restricted air flow it affects how heater and air conditioning works, for the worse. Engineers have designed the heater/ac system to run on clean air, so therefore your heater/ac systems work faster and better with a clean filter. Not to mention your own physical health by breathing clean air.
replace or repair. It will only get worse.
it warms the air particles... witch then transfer the heat to you
i think that the warm air push's out the cold air and than as the heat build around you. it warm you
if it has rear heat and air it has a heater coil in the back driver side check hoses to it and heater coil itself
I had the same problem on my Expedition. The heater core needed to be replaced. Cost around 700.00.
Low coolant? Bad thermostat? Heater core plugged, restricted or airbound? Bad heater control? Water pump not circulating coolant?
Hot air balloons have a gas heater that is generally powered by propane. When the pilot turns the heater on, the balloon will fly high due to the hydrocarbon chamber that allows the pilot control of ascent and descent of the hot air balloon.
first of all i hate to say an obvious answer but does the heater motor even turn. Does it blow air at all. The first thing i would check is if the fan motor is blowing any air at all. If not u need to put in a new heater fan motor. first of all i hate to say an obvious answer but does the heater motor even turn. Does it blow air at all. ihave a 1986 chevette that when i turn defrost on it blows out heat and when i put heater on it blows out only cold air? ihave a 1986 chevette that when i turn defrost on it blows out heat and when i put heater on it blows out only cold air?
Diverter is improperly engaging in the dash. Turn all dash switches off. Turn on truck, turn heater switch to max heat, then turn switch to vent. Feel any heat coming from dash? Now turn fan up a notch. You may hear the diver flap engage, and air gets cooler. Got drop dash to fix it
A restricted/plugged heater core can do that. Try flushing the heater core.
There might be a bad fuse causing the heater to not work. Check the fuses if they are all ok you may have a bad blower motor. when you turn the heater on and no air is blowing then it is your blower motor.
I don't think so because when we have a cold, it is best to keep oneself warm and thus the heater produce heat for us to keep warm. Unless we have a lousy heater which produce cold air instead of heat, haha!
You have a coolant leak somewhere in the system, possibly in the heater core.
engine not warm, low coolant, or stuck thermostat
