if the bottom of the turtle is flat its a female and if its curved its a male, but if the turtles tail gets a lot longer and it becomes more curved its a male
Actually, I'd recommend that you don't. There is a lot more to breeding and rearing herps successfully than simply owning a male and a female.
Eastern Box Turtles Live in Swampy Places eastern box turtles live in open feilds associated with marsh
No, there are three ways to differentiate male from female but you cannot do this with baby ones, only when they are mature, also it helps if you have a male and female to compare. Firstly the tail of the male is a lot longer than the female. Secondly the cloaca opening on the female near enough touches its shell whereas on the male it is farther out. And thirdly the claws of the male are a lot longer than the female.
No, b/c the sea turtle lives a lot longer than the snapping turtle.
I would have to say NOOOOO!! snappers are aggressive and bit a lot and get much BIGGER than box turtles.also box turtles are land turtles and snappers are almost fully aquatic
Box turtles can eat deadly amanita toadstools with no ill effect. They concentrate the toxins in their body and become toxic, themselves. A moldy strawberry won't even give it indigestion.
Turtles aren't pregnant. The female turtle lays unfertilized eggs and then a male turtle fertilizes the egg. Females constantly give off eggs, but they aren't "fetus'" yet. - Luckyduck Not true at all. That's what fish do not turtles! Turtles mate. A pregnant female turtle's appearance is only slightly changed. You might notice a slight widening of her shell. It is easier to tell if a turtle is pregnant by behavior. She will eat less and dig a lot of holes in the gravel or dry ground if she if provided dirt or sand as land.~Maddie Moo
a lot
Who cares? But, probably a lot.
there are a lot of good websites that give helpful information about what a turtle eats. It would probably be helpful if you knew what kind of turtle you had. Then just Google care for your pet turtle, or something like that.
