mostly likely your not washing your hair good enough but sometimes the flat iron has so many chemical stuff on the plates from using it so much it presses into your hair and it leaves a damaging smell .
*tip:you should try using a shampoo that takes the smell out or cleaning the plates before and after using it and also it could be what u spray or put in your hair.
