Quick overheating is very often a bad head gasket. With it cold, take the radiator cap off, make sure it is full and with the cap off start the car. If it is a head gasket, water should shoot out of the radiator a couple of feet high.

Simpler reasons, clogged radiator, stuck thermostat, bad water pump, bad radiator cap.
