A parrot eats the following nuts, seeds and grains, and fruits and veggies, and all those foods are full with vitamins and when they eat they normally they don't get all the nutrition so they eat it in poo form to get the nutrition they did not get earlier. Just like hamsters, rats, mice, bunnies, and others in the rodent family.
It could be possible that he isn't getting enough minerals, try adding some pellets to his diet.

∙ 14y agoMake sure your animal has adequate nutrition and amount of food and water. Some animals are just poop eaters. Don't put them by your face. good handwashing after handling. Keep cage clean. If they seem to be getting worse, consult vet.
