sleeping for the red ear slider is natural or it just shows that their growing. if your weather is changing then they are probably hibernating
Because their cornea isn't affected by water like a human's is. I know this because I have two red sliders :)
Your turtle may be sleepy because the water is too cold. Check the temperature. You may need a heater.
Red Eared sliders are aggressive over food, territory mates, etc. Most likely it was due to that aggression. I would suggest separating the sliders and taking the injured slider a vet. Good Luck!
call a vet and bring it to them. your best bet is that. i`m no expert.
Watch your red eared slider while they are feeding. Notice the way that their eyes focus on their food to the point where they are nearly cross-eyed? That is a signal when they are about to bite something. So when their eyes focus, that is when they are about to 'attack'.
Most turtles found in freshwater ponds that are yellow and green are called red eared sliders. In their younger years they have yellow in them but as they age they begin to lose their color. The red eared slider has a red streak behind its eyes as well...It could also be a yellow eared slider as well which doesn't have the red streaks behind the eyes, instead yellow.
When your eyes were closed your eyes were shut. They now see because you have opened your eyes
