Possibly the soil is too rich in nitrogen which promotes leaf growth at the expense of flowers. Potassium is necessary for flowering as is phosphorus but you have to get the balance right. Ash is high in potassium.

There is no need to be insulting especially when you are so wrong.

Usually a different leaf on a rose means the briar that the bush was budded on to is growing, and will eventually take over, pull the shoot off now and keep your eyes on the bush.
