In little kids, the biggest reason is that they pick their noses. They irritate the mucous membranes, they scab or start to heal, the kids pick at them again, an there you have a nosebleed. Adults often get nosebleeds in dry climates because they have larger vessels near the surface and when it dries out the tissue forms little cracks and they have a nosebleed. Sometimes, though, they can be frequent or serioius enough that cauterization of the vessel may be necessary to prevent further bleeding. This happened to me after I had been on oxygen for a while and my airway was really dried out - no fun, but it really got bad. Unfortunately, there are some serious medical conditions that can cause frequent nosebleeds, so you can't just ignore it. If it happens a few times, and the usual causes explain it, you can probably just treat it and relax, but if it continues, you need to see a medical practitioner who can take a good hitory of the nosebleeds, do a good physical, and perhaps order tests to rule out the bad things. Better to know and have your son treated than to fret and worry and have him get worse. 1: Kids may pick their noses. Picking noses causes frequent nose bleeds.
2: Bullies at school can threaten kids. Bullies always try to make you bleed, from top to bottom.

∙ 14y agoNose bleeds could be nasal congestion, dry sinuses or nose picking. Rarely it could be caused by a medical condition and he would have other symptoms such as easy bruising, pale color to skin or inside lips and eye lids, weakness or complaint of being tired a lot. If he has this symptoms then take him to the pediatrician for an evaluation.

It will never go away, but it will fade over time. By the time he's ten you'll hardly be able to notice it. Keep plenty of sunblock on it when he goes outside.

It sounds like your husband wants to spend time getting closer to the son from his previous marriage. I'm sure your son has him around all the time don't you think it would be fair for the other son to have him all to himself for awhile? Why not plan a vacation for you and your son to go on at the same time? It never hurts the child to have time alone with just one parent and it will give all of you something to talk about when your back from vacation.
