The hearth valves only allow blood to flow one way.

the purpose of having 4 chambers is they help pumb blood roung your body. they are very helpful because that means your heart doesnt have do it on its own that's why i know lots about the heart chambers xx
The ventricles are the lower chambers of the heart. The atria are the upper chambers.
Atria receive blood into the heart and ventricles "discharge" it from the heart
The heart has 4 chambers. The "collecting chamber of the heart", or the atria , is the two chambers that are located above the other two chambers. It carries the responsibility in helping to pump the blood out of the chambers and making sure no blood pumps back in.
Normal heart sounds are caused by the heart beating. This is the process of the heart muscle contracting and relaxing as blood flows through the various chambers.
gorillas have a heart with 4 chambers and a blood system that uses hemoglobin
When the heart chambers are contracting at their maximum force to push blood out of the heart it's called systole.
The lower chambers of the heart have a different function than the upper chambers. The lower chambers pump the blood out of the heart into the body and lungs.
The two upper chambers of the heart are called the atria. They receive blood from the body and the lungs and help to pump it to the lower chambers of the heart.
The heart is divided by a partition or septum into two halves. The halves are in turn divided into chambers. The upper two chambers of the heart are called atria and the lower two chambers are called ventricles. The atria receive blood returning to the heart from the body and the ventricles pump blood from the heart to the body. Valves allow blood to flow in one direction between the chambers of the heart.
The ventricles is the lower heart chambers not the blood vessels that direct blood toward the heart.
