Jupiter has a gravity which is substantially greater than on Earth. The other gas giants have gravity which is similar to Earth's. Mercury, on the other hand, has a very weak gravity: around 38% compared to Earth. Also, being so close to the Sun it is blasted by the Solar wind. These two factors have stripped Mercury of its atmosphere.
because the gravity keeps the giants planets' gases from escaping.
because the gravity keeps the giants planets' gases from escaping.
For the same reason that our atmosphere on Earth does not escape into space - gravity.
It feels bad about how ugly it looks stupid. DAH
The gas giant planets have stronger gravity, which makes it harder for anything to escape, and are colder, which means that even with similar gravitational fields, gas molecules might not achieve escape velocity.
Mercury doesn't have a gas giant.
No. There are, however, giant volcanoes on Mars.
Mercury is basicly the same as our moon
because if u have enough gas in one area it creates mass and causes it to stay in the gravity field of a planet
Yes, metallic bonds only ever form giant structures. Mercury is an exception to the rule that giant structures have high melting points.
