Why doesn't your 1995 Nissan 200sx allow your rpm to go over 2500?

Check the mass air flow sensor.. if one of the wires is corroded or is split than its not gonna rev over 2500 or lower. and eventullay if you hold it there i bet it stalls out right?? these are around $80 u can go to a junk yard and get one out of a sentra for prob cheaper.
