Why no door chimes sound 2001 Chevy Monte Carlo?
Have you had the stereo replaced or upgraded? If so, they probly didnt install the proper install kit for the door chimes to work. The chimes are intergrated into the stereo system.
Not all of the lights in the stereo panel behind the numbers work up in a 1997 Chevy Monte Carlo and there are no fuses that are directly related to this feature?
I have same problem with stereo in my 1998 Z34. Lights on preset's 1 and 4 work but 2,3,5,6 are out. foud out from a lot of other people that this is a defect in most all of Chevys Radios in Monte Carlo's.. They say the bulbs behind the buttons are the worst made on the market. Brett

You will have to replace the switch that is under the top cover on the steering column, the steering wheel has to come off to get the cover off.

You've hooked the stereo up to the same power feed as the odo, and it's stealing power from the odo. Find a better hot wire to hook the stereo to. I'd suggest the lighter, or even better, the power feed for the original stereo.
