A C4 plants do not fix oxygen because it does not contain the enzyme RuBisCO which fixed either carbon dioxide or oxygen. A special enzyme is used which only allows the carbon dioxide to be fixed.

Lets look at C3 plants. C3 plants have RuBisCO which allows them to either fix carbon dioxide or oxygen. In a dry region, the oxygen level may increase while carbon dioxide level may decrease. This means that more oxygens are fixed in a process called photorespiration. Photorespiration is completely useless as it contains no energy, but you can't stop it because there are too much oxygen with not enough carbon dioxide.

What are the plants called which fix carbon dioxide?

"fix" carbon dioxide? If turning CO2 into oxygen is what you meant. They are called plants. Better go with the green ones. They use light, CO2 and H2O as food and ends up producing O2 or oxygen.

What do plants breath out?

Plants have a nearly opposite respiration with that of humans. They harness the energetic photons of sunlight along with the ability to fix carbon dioxide (CO2) in separate reactions to create carbohydrates (R-6-P) as the product and, to answer your question, Oxygen as the respiratory "waste" product. This fact is why you often hear people say that we need trees and plants to breathe and sustain oxygen levels at their optimal P02 levels of around 25-28%

Does water plants take in oxygen and give out carbon dioxide?

Any green plant (containing Chlorophyll) in the presence of light will take in CO2 and give off O2 (oxygen) since photosynthesis is the process by which plants fix carbon from CO2 to produce sugars (polysaccharides etc.). In doing so plants feed the world and produce oxygen even underwater.

Why Green plants are considered to be the major polluters?

Green plants are not polluters. They absorb carbon dioxide and release oxygen (a good thing), remove pollutants from air (a good thing), fix nitrogen into nitrates (a good thing)

How plant is producer as well as consumer of oxygen?

Plants perform photosynthesis, where they fix carbon dioxide into sugars and release oxygen from water, and then consume these sugars using cellular respiration, releasing carbon dioxide from the sugars and taking in oxygen to create water
