The Official Lyrics of "O Canada!" are;

O Canada!

Our home and native land!

True patriot love in all thy sons command.

With glowing hearts we see thee rise,

The True North strong and free!

From far and wide,

O Canada, we stand on guard for thee.

God keep our land glorious and free!

O Canada, we stand on guard for thee.

O Canada, we stand on guard for thee.

The question above, can be answered from different angles.

One Angle: The name 'Jehovah's Witnesses' says it all. We are first and foremost 'witnesses' of Jehovah God. We are not witnesses for Canada, or any other government. Jehovah God did not establish the different countries. Humans did, without consulting Jehovah.

We consider the following:

Many who sing their national anthem, do not have similar 'songs of praise' for Jehovah God. They don't even call him by his name. Something is missing when it comes to priorities. While they will defend their country with their lives, -- is there similar zeal in defending the high moral standard which Jehovah has established for mankind? Do they sing about 'chasteness'; about the sanctity of life; about the sanctity of marriage? These are virtues to defend with our whole life, our whole being.

We also consider the words:

The words 'patriot love' is in the song. Jehovah's Witnesses do not wish to be viewed as patriotic, regardless of which country they live in. We consider ourselves merely good 'citizens' who 'respect' the country they live in; who abide by the laws; and even abide by the principles upon which laws are founded. We help our fellowmen to become good citizens, in many practical ways.

The song states that we should command our sons to have 'patriot love'; which includes 'standing on guard' for Canada. Jehovah's Witnesses do not 'stand on guard' in the military, in any patriotic love. We consider that training for warfare is not for Christians. We can't imagine seeing Jesus commanding his sons to train for warfare.

Another expression: "God keep our land glorious and free!"

Actually Jehovah's Witnesses pray the Lord's Prayer, where we pray for God's Kingdom Government to come. When God's Kingdom comes, what do you think it will do to all the governments on earth?

We ask ourselves: How could we pray for God's Kingdom to come, out of one side of our mouth; and then sing for 'God to keep our land glorious and free', out of the other side of our mouth. To us this is contradictory.

We recognize what National Anthems really are. They are a way to express allegiance. Jehovah's Witnesses allegiance is only to Jehovah God and his Kingdom by Christ. We feel God's Kingdom was established in the heavens in 1914; and we have been preaching that Kingdom's arrival every since. We consider ourselves 'ambassadors' and 'envoys' of God's established Kingdom. In that role, we've been trying to help citizens of all countries to abide by God's laws. They are found in The Bible. We feel that Jehovah God will soon Judge the whole earth according to His standards of righteousness. This is our passion, our patriot love.

What are Jehovah's Witnesses famous for?

Do you mean Jehovah's Witnesses? Our short name is the witnesses not the jehovah. Jehovah is god's name, so we dont like to be called Jehovah. We are famous for our ministry. We are known throughout the world as preaching door to door about the Kingdom promised by Jehovah God. We are also known b those who know us better for our love and strong worldwide unity. This is best shown at the international coventions.

Is Lni kamoze a Jehovah's witeness?

People say they heard him speaking poorly about the Jehovah's Witnesses. I dont believe everything I read on the net. There is no evidence supporting or refuting the suggestion he is a Jehovah's Witness.

Why don't Jehovah Witnesses believe in the birth of Christ?

Jehovah's Witnesses do not have doubts that Jesus was born. In fact, they are just as thankful he was born as the next person. They dont celebrate his birth, because his death holds more signifigance. Luke chapter 22 verses 19 through 20 gives clear meaning that Jesus was saying to celebrate his death, not his birth. His blood really saved man, not his birth. This question was no doubt asked on the bases that Jehovah's Witnesses do no celebrate Christmas. Contact local witnesses for more information about why they dont celebrate christmas or Jesus' birth.

Why don't the Jehovah's Witnesses celebrate teachers day?

Jehovah's Witnesses do not celebrate holidays that they believe do not fit true Christianity. These include Christmas, Easter, and even birthdays. The Jehovah's Witnesses believe that Christ did not command his birth - or any birth - to be celebrated; he just wanted his death to be remembered.

Did a Jehovah's Witness do the private memorial for the Jackson family?

No. Micheal Jackson was no longer on of Jehovah's Witnesses.i dont think so. Very doubtful as MJ wasn't a baptised JW, and he wasn't active in the faith. No, private funeral services were no doubt held for Michael Jackson because his family and friends wanted an ceremony that was not public.Jehovah's Witnesses themselves would not have performed a memorial service for Mr Jackson, firstly because Jehovah's Witness funeral services are only held for members of the Jehovah's Witnesse religion and Michael Jackson was not one of Jehovah's Witnesses. Also Jehovah's Witnesses do not count unbabtised associates as Witnesses; Michael Jackson was never officially one of Jehovah's Witnesses. There are currenly only two members of the Jackson family (his mother Katherine and his sister Rebbie) that are actually Jehovah's Witnesses and they would be fully aware of the above two facts.

When a Jehovah witness dies do their name appear you the newpaper?

In the Obituaries, yes. Sometimes their names are not included, but then there are many people who dont end up in the newspaper for their death. This has nothing to do with Jehovah's Witnesses and their beliefs, so its not really condemned. You most likely wouldn't even know the person that's mentioned is a Jehovah's Witness or not, the Obituaries dont tell that information.

Should you give a card to a Jehovah's witness for the birth of their child?

Yes you can give a witnesses a card; whether the witnesses will chose to accept it will depend on several factors. Since Jehovah's Witnesses do not celebrate Christmas or birthdays (or other celebrations they deem as 'pagan') if this has previously been explained the witness may or may not choose to accept the card if it is for one of these occassions. He or she may accept the card in the spirit it was given, explaining the above or may chose not to accept the card. If the card is for another occassion that the witnesses finds unobjectionable they will likely accept it with thanks.
