Lie down and write with a ball point pen upside down. after a while the pen wont work because it needs the ink to fall down to the ball point. there is no gravity in space there fore the ink will just float it wont fall
Edit: why not use a pencil?
Fountain pens depend on gravity to pull the ink down to the nib. In Zero gravity, they don't work.
Electricity works in space because it has been proven to work on the space shuttles. Electricity has also been proven to work on the space stations.
no body works in space because in space no oxygen,no computer,no tv,but in space you can work 2 or 1 mounth.the astronauts work in space.
The Space Race began a whole series of events. In the US, an entire "Sputnik" craze broke out following the launch of the first satellite by the Soviet Union. Also, during the space race, NASA felt the need to develop a ballpoint pen which would work in zero-gravity conditions. After spending 1 million dollars on research, the pen was developed successfully. Funnily enough, the Soviet Union had the same problem; they used a pencil.
Rockets generally work better in the space as compared on air. This is because there is no air resistance on the space.
pencils dont work use pens
The only difference between space pens and any other kind of pen is that space pens work in any position in which you hold them, whereas other pens need gravity to make the ink flow to the tip, so that they will dry up if you try to write with them in the wrong position.
When you buy ballpoint pens, it is a good idea to buy the cheap ones first. You can then test them out and see if you like to use them. If they work well, you will not have wasted any money. If not, you can then get the more expensive pens so that you enjoy the way that they work. This is much better than just buying the expensive ones first since you have a chance to save.

Good Question Well ......... There is a vaccuum-cartridge pen that will write in space. There is also a device known as a "pencil." :)
Pencils are often used in space because most pens rely on gravity to work and are therefore useless in orbit.
Many reasons: Ball-point pens are simply more convenient. They don't leak and the ink lasts for much longer. Ink replacement is almost unnecessary because buying a replacement ballpoint pen is so cheap. Ballpoint pens can be kept almost anywhere without fear that ink will leak or dry out. Fountain pens, on the other hand, must be constantly cleaned out and refilled. Ballpoint pens are much cheaper to produce. They can be made almost entirely of plastic, unlike fountain pens. Ballpoint pens are also easier to mass-produce without having to craft nibs separately. While fountain pens are used for fancy writing and have overall better ink quality, they take much longer to dry. This causes them to smear easily and sometimes run down the paper, easily ruining the work. One last but less obvious reason is that since fountain pens are designed to be pulled and not pushed across the paper, a left-handed person cannot use one without wearing down the nib faster and likely tearing the paper. That's because a left-handed person rights from left-to-right, pushing the pen across the paper as he writes. The current selections of left-handed fountain pens are quite limited and uncommon to see. As you can see, a ballpoint pen has none of the problems that a fountain pen has, sacrificing a little fanciness and legibility. Most people these days don't mind at all. After all, they're so abundant that you can keep them everywhere.
Copic markers are a popular choice for coloring anime due to their vibrant colors and blendability. Other options include Prismacolor colored pencils or Posca Paint Pens for adding details. Ultimately, the best pen will depend on personal preference and the desired effect.
The ballpoint pen impacts the world in a small but important way. For one, Royal Air Force pilots used it in World War II because ink flow didn't rely on gravity, and therefore it worked at high altitudes. It also allows artists and authors to work mess-free whenever they get an idea, despite their location. The ballpoint pen is important because it writes the first time and it works without smearing, ripping the paper, or making ink splotches.
Gravity (I hope this helps you!!!) Please if any more questions make sure you write me in my mail. you can take everything space but if it will still work or if a live when it is in space is a different thing. here`s an example of a thing that does not work in space a ballpoint pen because there is no gravity NASA spend a lot of money on that and now the use a simple pencil
A digital pen - that is, a stylus that "writes" on a computer screen - should work perfectly well in space, assuming that the tablet device or touchscreen would work in vacuum. In the early days of the US space program, there was a level of concern that traditional ball-point pens would not work in free-fall, because the ink was gravity-fed to the ink ball. (Ball point pens typically do not work when held upside down, for example, or when writing on a surface above the body of the pen. ) NASA commissioned the design of a "space pen" with a pressurized cartridge allowing it to write in free-fall or when inverted.
Pens require gravity to work so they stop working in space. pencils are also not used because when we use it saw dust is produced and if it enters the electronics there is chance for the rocket to fail and explode.
