Birds fall from the window ledge above mine, flapping their wings at the last second towards a horizontal flight. Due to a construct in my mind it makes their falling and their flight symbolic of my entire existence. If you want to electrocute birds, all you need is a bug zapper, hence the name.

Why do birds sit together on telephone lines?

For a start, most telephone wires are insulated and carry little or no electricity so, apart from falling off and hurting themselves, they won't get hurt on telephone wires. Really, you should have asked about why birds don't get hurt on overhead electrical wires. The answer is fairly simple really - to get electrocuted from those wires you need to complete the circuit, in this case touch the ground, for the electricity to surge through the body. Birds only sit on the wire and do not touch the ground, so they can't be electrocuted.

Why dont birds tip over when they sit on telephone wires?

birds have special tendons that allow them lock around the perch. With tendons located behind their ankle and in front of their knee, they weight of their body stretches the tendons so they lock around the perch

How come birds on electric wires dont get electrocuted?

For an electric current to pass through the bird's body, there must be a potential difference (voltage) across its legs. But its legs are connected to a very good conductor which means that the bird's legs must be at the same potential -no potential difference, no shock!

Why don't birds get shock while they sit on electric transmission wires?

no they dont

When climbing a telephone pole what is one very important feature to remember?

Dont touch the wires or let go of the pole. Have fun doing illegal things friend!

Why do birds not electrocuted when they are staying on live wire or wires?

Power lines are insulated and as long as they don't touch the ground (or another object) they won't be electrocuted.AnswerMost power lines are not, in fact, insulated because they are already surrounded by an insulating media -air.The reason that birds don't get electrocuted is because each foot is at the same potential and, for current to flow (it's the current which causes electrocution) through its body, each foot must be at a different potential. The bird is safe, providing another part of its body doesn't come in contact with one of the other conductors.

Do people bleed when you get electrocuted?

=No i dont think that your body would drae blood. However you mite get a cut.=

Where was the first telephone made at?

i dont no

How come birds on electric wires dont get electroucuted?

They are not grounded. Electricity is going to take the shortest route possible and with the least resistance...therefore it is "easier" for the electricity to travel in a straight line through the metal cables than to travel up and back down again through a bird which is not conductive. If you were to hang from a power line (assuming you didnt come close to another one) you would not be electricuted, only if you touch the ground or another wire or pole will you get zapped.Answer The resistance of the wire between the bird's feet is so low that the current passing through the conductor cannot create sufficient voltage drop to harm the bird. Should part of the bird come into contact with another line conductor, or an earthed conductor, then it will be killed.

What does Let The Birds Fly mean?
