Why don't pirates have princesses?

In some stories there are tales of a "Pirate Queen" or "Pirate Princess". The fact of the matter was that pirates were almost strictly men. Very few women, if any - I can't think of any examples, were ever "pirates". They rarely were married, though they often had sex with prostitutes when they docked.

A princess is a title given daughters of royalty. To gain such a title one would have to claim "royal blood", and then have a legitimate wife and daughter, and recognize that daughter. For that reason, "princesses" were nonexistent in the realm of pirates.
