There are several theories as to why we often cannot remember our dreams. One has to do with the hippocampus, which is part of the brain vital for transferring memories from short-term to long-term storage. During sleep, the brain’s regions turn off at different times, and one of the last to turn off is the hippocampus. If the hippocampus is the last to go to sleep, it may also be the last to wake up. According to Thomas Andrillon, a neuroscientist at Monash University, “You could have this window where you wake up with a dream in your short-term memory, but since the hippocampus is not fully awake yet, your brain is not able to keep that memory.”
There is a simple answer to this. Like a computer, mind has a RAM and ROM. Hard drive and temporary drive. The dreams are done in the sub conscience and hence when you wake up, it has hardly any recollection.
WE FORGET almost all dreams soon after waking up. Our forgetfulness is generally attributed to neurochemical conditions in the brain that occur during REM sleep, a phase of sleep characterized by rapid eye movements and dreaming. ... The dreaming/reverie end involves some of the most creative and “far out” material.
you spend a third of your life asleep, a good chunk of which involves dreaming. But most often, you don't remember any of your dreams. And even on those lucky days when you wake up with a memory of the dream still floating in your mind, there's a good chance that in just a minute the memory will vanish into thin air and back to dreamland.
In waking life, such a case of quickly forgetting recent experiences would surely land you in a doctor's office. With dreams, however, forgetting is normal. Why?
There are two parts of mind . one is conscious and other is unconscious mind. when we are awake, our conscious mind is aware do reasoning, thinking and other important tasks like saving visuals and important memories in the hard disk of our mind.
when we sleep our conscious mind sleeps and we are not aware of any thing. our mind dont save visuals which we see in dream because our awareness is also lost as our conscious mind is responsible for saving visuals in our memory., we become so much unaware that we when we see dream we dont realize that its dream we thinks its reality. like we feel pain and fear in dreams.
when we wake up and as we realize it was dream our mind cancels all the visuals we see in our dreams.
but there are dreams which are so much strong that we remember one or 3 seconds visuals of our dreams. apart from that we cant recall or remember our dreams
It is not really irregular that people don't remember their dreams.
Yes, after dreaming wake up we will forget what ever we dream got,

Dreaming is most closely associated with the sleep state known as Rapid Eye Movement. Medications may suppress REM sleep.

Yes, I call it reality. We are awake in our dreams right? So when we sleep there we are awake here. The other side can remember little of what happens when we are awake here, in fact i cant remember what i had for lunch yesterday...hmmm.
Each individual differs in the ability to remember dreams, and many people do, indeed, remember beautiful and happy dreams. However, sleep researchers have shown that everyone remembers dreams most clearly when they wake up directly from a dream. So you might remember bad dreams simply because they disturb your sleep and cause you to awaken.
Yes, it is completely normal not to remember dreams. A significant portion of people do not ever remember their dreams.
Just sleep. You have dreams every night, whether you remember them or not.
Most of the time, we cannot remember our dreams. The only time that dreams are remembered is when they are vivid enough or we see significant people in those dreams. There is an application that helps us to remember our dreams by slowly waking us up. After which, an application automatically opens up for us to take note of the most recent dream we had.
People almost never remember there dreams because there are so many little dreams your having that you brain just tends not to remember them and if you do happen to remember you dreams usually what you remember is only what happens right before you wake up you have over 100 dreams a night but they end up connecting and still you are only capable of remembering the last 60 seconds or so before you wake up or just bits an pieces of your dreams
All people dream. Most do not remember their dreams on awakening however.
It's the way the brain handles all the imput, sorting out what needs to be remembered and what doesent, most dreams do not have any meaning, they are unimportant, when you have a dream that has meaning, you will remember it... But not all dreams you remember have meaning...
