Do you mean Jehovah's Witnesses? Our short name is the witnesses not the jehovah. Jehovah is god's name, so we dont like to be called Jehovah. We are famous for our ministry. We are known throughout the world as preaching door to door about the Kingdom promised by Jehovah God. We are also known b those who know us better for our love and strong worldwide unity. This is best shown at the international coventions.

Why don't Jehovah Witnesses believe in the birth of Christ?
Jehovah's Witnesses do not have doubts that Jesus was born. In fact, they are just as thankful he was born as the next person. They dont celebrate his birth, because his death holds more signifigance. Luke chapter 22 verses 19 through 20 gives clear meaning that Jesus was saying to celebrate his death, not his birth. His blood really saved man, not his birth. This question was no doubt asked on the bases that Jehovah's Witnesses do no celebrate Christmas. Contact local witnesses for more information about why they dont celebrate christmas or Jesus' birth.

Jehovah's Witnesses do not celebrate holidays that they believe do not fit true Christianity. These include Christmas, Easter, and even birthdays. The Jehovah's Witnesses believe that Christ did not command his birth - or any birth - to be celebrated; he just wanted his death to be remembered.

In the Obituaries, yes. Sometimes their names are not included, but then there are many people who dont end up in the newspaper for their death. This has nothing to do with Jehovah's Witnesses and their beliefs, so its not really condemned. You most likely wouldn't even know the person that's mentioned is a Jehovah's Witness or not, the Obituaries dont tell that information.

We dont wear baggy clothes nor do we wear tight things as well. Jehovah's Witnesses are only encouraged to be modest in their dress and grooming. (1Timothy 2:9; Titus 2:3-5)

Should you give a card to a Jehovah's witness for the birth of their child?
Yes you can give a witnesses a card; whether the witnesses will chose to accept it will depend on several factors. Since Jehovah's Witnesses do not celebrate Christmas or birthdays (or other celebrations they deem as 'pagan') if this has previously been explained the witness may or may not choose to accept the card if it is for one of these occassions. He or she may accept the card in the spirit it was given, explaining the above or may chose not to accept the card. If the card is for another occassion that the witnesses finds unobjectionable they will likely accept it with thanks.
