Yes you can give a witnesses a card; whether the witnesses will chose to accept it will depend on several factors. Since Jehovah's Witnesses do not celebrate Christmas or birthdays (or other celebrations they deem as 'pagan') if this has previously been explained the witness may or may not choose to accept the card if it is for one of these occassions. He or she may accept the card in the spirit it was given, explaining the above or may chose not to accept the card. If the card is for another occassion that the witnesses finds unobjectionable they will likely accept it with thanks.

I am sure they would be delighted.

Jehovah's Witnesses do not celebrate their yearly birthdays, as they avoid customs that have pagan origins, but the actual birth of healthy baby is a joyous occasion for them as for all parents and the interest of friends and family may be expressed in many forms, including cards.

That would be a lovely thing to do. The amazing miracle of birth was created by Jehovah and it brings great joy and happiness. Therefore a card would be very much welcome and appreciated in this situation

If a person wishes to, then yes they can.

As a matter of fact it is a very nice ,caring and appreciated gesture. Jehovah's Witnesses have problems and suffer just like everyone else. The difference is they have complete faith in Jehovah's promises in The Bible and look forward to paradise here in earth as well as resurection. Rev. 21:3 and 4

How can a birth parent explain to their young child that they are going to be adopted by a relative?

* Unfortunately, you did not give any reason as to why the birth parent is giving up their young child to a relative. If at all possible; even if it means government assistance the birth parent should try to keep their child. If it's absolutely impossible then all the birth parent can do is try to explain to the child the best they can, but it will never be enough and the child will feel unloved by the birth parent. Eventually the child will grow accustomed to being raised by a relative, but will eventually grow up and want to know why their birth parent did this. The least the birth parent can do is write a heart-felt letter explaining the circumstances as to why they had to give the child up and give the letter to the relative and when the child is old enough to understand and asks 'Why did my birth parent give me up' then they can read the letter. The birth parent should keep in touch with the relative to see how their child is and at some future date and providing the child wants too then the birth parent and child should meet when that child is no longer a minor.
