Sounds to me like your vehicle has a dead battery.
Pull off the passenger side kick pannel and you will see a module that says something like keyless entry or security module. If you have this module you have keyless entry. This answer is based on my 2000 ranger with keyless entry. Mike B Orlando
hi there not sure which country your in so all i can tell you is that in all oz model 99 st pathfinders dont come with keyless entry only central locking ;;;;; regards sam

This is going to be a quick guide to save you from paying a programming fee for your remote keyless entry for All Yukon and Envoy, Tahoe and Trailblazer models.. This guide will not work for any other models, but will for most all Yukon, Tahoes, and Envoy, Trailblazers including XL and Denali models. If you go to a dealership, you will pay around $50 for programming! This will work on new remotes you just purchased or on old remotes that you may have had batteries replaced that lost program. It must be followed exactly. First, hold down the unlock feature on your door and keep it held down. While holding down, turn ignition key over 2 times and turn off (dont start vehicle). The speed at which you do this is not important, but just turn to where radio will play and instrument panel lights up. After you have done this the unlock-lock will cycle on your doors automatically and the horn will sound. Now, you can let go of the unlock on door and Hold the Lock and Unlock function on the remote, Both at same time! Hold for 15 to 20 seconds until your doors cycle thru lock-unlock. They will do this automatically while you are holding both remote keys. Now, Turn the key over again and then off. This should set your remote to work. If this does not work, there may be a problem with the remote or you may have a remote not compatible with vehicle or even dead battery in remote. Hope this saves someone some time and money! There are some models that can be set up through the (DIC) Driver Information Center. You can go through the options in the DIC until you see where it says to (Learn New Remote) or something to that nature. When you push the check mark and hold it down it will say learning new remote. You then hold the unlock and lock buttons on your remote keyless entry. This may take a few seconds, but should take care of the programming process. This really works! I just used it to program my 2005 Tahoe LT keyless entry system!
if you have keyles entry the battery in the remote might be dead which would mean you would need a new one
I dont think so. there is no scan button on the controller. Do u have the codes?
I dont think so. My 1995 A6 quatrro is sans remote entry and I've noticed that same year A6s have a "receiver" for the signal on the B pillar (between the front and rear passenger door)s. That "receiver would somehow have to be added and wired into the rest of the locking system. Seems like a factory job to me.
the door code is on top of the computer module, it is five numbers together sometimes you have to enter the numbers in reverse order, try entering the numbers if they dont work try them reversed
The LE should have keyless standard equip. You can be sure by getting in your car key in hand and put it in program mode to see if it has it for sure. Jump in close the drivers door and lock it with the electric door lock switch. Then insert your key in the ignition then pull it out several times in a semi rapid succession [ 1 sec in 1 sec out] After 7 to 15 times of this your hazard lights should flash on the dash. If they do you have keyless. If you do determine that . pick up some remotes and do it again except as soon as the lights flash turn the key to the on position [dont start the vehile. Then push any remote button. The lights should flash again. that remote is programmed. If you have more remotes simply unlock and lock the door with the electric switch in your drivers window switch panel. then hit any button on the next remote. Now that one is programmed. Jsut repeat that last process for any additional remotes up to 4. This post per Nicoclub.com
