ground issue on wiper motor housing
Remove the retaining ring from the top of your 1989 Chevy Corvette ignition switch. Slide the ignition switch out and remove the wiring harness.

The most likely cause would be the stator assembly. By disconnecting the cannon plug for the key switch harness, at the engine, you can isolate the problem to the engine, or the ignition switch / harness assemblies. With the harness disconnected, spin the engine over with a starter button, connected to the solenoid. If the engine now has fire, the problem is in the ignition kill circuit, (ignition switch, emergency kill switch, or harness assembly). If a no fire condition still exists, the problem is in the ignition system, on the engine itself. The stator, and related ignition components can be tested with a volt / ohm meter.
The 1994 Chevrolet Corvette fan relay switch is located in the fuse box. The fuse box can be located in the engine compartment.

IT IS LOCATED IN THE REAR OF THE INTAKE... YOU HAVE TO REMOVE THE INTAKE TO CHANGE IT....

Unfortunately it does not unplug from the switch. Follow the harness down the column and you will see where the harness disconnects.
check the fuse for ingnition
I have a 79 vette 350 and i use 10w40. you might want to switch to synthetic, i hear it is better for older cars. but once you switch to synthetic, you can't go back
