Not knowing the year, make, model and engine info, could it be your testing the sensor for the temp gauge?
behind the left (drivers side) "kick panel"
You more or less can't. You will be a stand alone or piggy back ECU and program that instead.
Bad ECU, replace.
This could be a lot of things coil , cap , rotor , wires , spark plugs , ignition , timing , catalitc converter blocked , egr, tps, maf, ecu , ect ect ect
Yes, the tps signal is sent to your ecu. the ecu decides when to activate your transmission shift solenoids. if the tps is sending the wrong signal, then the ecu is giving the signal at the wrong time causing a hard shift.
Check the engine coolant temprature sensor it may be sending the wrong signals to the ECU making the ECU think the engine is cold and overfueling the engine.
The temperature gauge works intermittently or the temperature displayed varies varies or the gauge doesn't work at all. Many modern sending units serve two purposes, gauge and ECU. when the ECU side fails it should (but not always) throw up a fault code.
one wire is for the gauge and the other two are the normal ecu wires ie a gnd and a signal
behind instrument cluster, you don,t need to remove the ecu it could be reflashed with a device called TCODE, iam sending you a link in case you need more info http://www.pinaslocksmith.com/infolexus.html
Buy an MSD with a rev limiter , then wiki which wire to cut on the ECU to eliminate the fuel cut and problem solved.
bad or misreading MAP or MAF sensors, bad ECT sensor, bad TPS sensor, stuck open fuel injector, or problem with fuel system, faulty parameters set in ECU or bad ECU.
