it is because earlier it was thought to be a force inside a battery that takes the electrons from lower potential terminal to higher one in a mysterious way and hence a force . But , now we know that emf is the external work expended per unit of charge to produce an electric potential difference across two open-circuited terminals . And the electrons do so due to the electric field inside the battery..
The emf of a batter as it is used will stay the same.
What is the range of the EMF spectrum
It's primary usage is to determine the nature of an induced EMF from changes in the magnetic flux through a circuit. However, you must use Faraday's Law (and a unit conversion factor) to determine the SIZE of such an EMF.
Shooting star is a misnomer because it shoots through space but it's not a star, it's an asteroid. Meteor is'nt a misnomer.
"voltmeter"
There is analogy between pressure and EMF or voltage. What pressure is to the liquids, EMF or voltage is to electric current. But, of course, they are not the same.
Don't misnomer my name.
emf in volts
Bcoz the emf which is to be measured is less than emf of driving cell....
A misnomer is a wrong or inaccurate name or designation; "king crab" is a misnomer-these creatures are not crustaceans at all.
yes indused emf is also called motional emf. If an open coil is subjected to a variable magnetic field, at the ends of the coil a potential difference is induced which is called induced emf. If a coil is connected to an emf source and switched on, the rising current will produced an variable magnetic field which in turn produces an emf. It is called back emf.
the retard is a very misnomer name
The Madison Misnomer was created in 2007.
EMF - band - ended in 2009.
EMF - band - was created in 1989.
EMF is greater
