emo is a type/stereotype of person, where "supposedly" they are so depressed that they chose to express there feelings through dress such as heavy black eye make-up, black clothing, cutting/harming ones self ect....
each emo could be sad for a different reason.
and chose to express there feelings this way. Other times it is just the preference to ones dress, and sadness/depression has nothing to do with it.
