Many already flourish and Hemp might as well. To keep the jobs here, rather than export them, we could put in place trade laws that would not violate current agreements.

The HUGE anti-drug industry would still be able to keep their jobs at the borders and be funded from taxes collected from the Hemp industry itself.

By keeping the jobs here we could take advantage of advanced industrial technology to grow a sustainable crop that can have significant value added.

We can use it to fuel our economies, we could even use it as fuel and since it is classified as a drug we could keep the jobs here and those jobs would help stop our decline.

Nuclear power. Canada has Uranium and has done considerable research in nuclear power. The USA might have done some as well.

Tidal Power. Some parts of Canada has the highest tides in the world and most coast lines have some tide. Canada has the largest coast line in the world. The USA might have some tides as well.

Adventure Tourism, Canada has some of the last remote and isolated places on the planet, from mountains, to arboreal forest to Arctic and Sub-Arctic. The USA has Alaska.

Natural Carbon Sinking. Canada naturally sinks more carbon than any country in the world due to our large forests, and cold oceans. We sink more carbon than we produce and could sell our carbon sinks as carbon credits. The USA, well the USA would be one of our customers as they emit more than they sink.
