The main known reason to why the giant panda is becoming extinct is due to the clearing of its main food source, Bamboo. They are classified as endangered because their are not many left, and those that are left are disappearing fast.

But then according to Charles Darwin, it is the survival of the fittest.

The panda has a very complicated breeding cycle and the females are only fertile for one of three hundred and sixty five days. This making it very hard to reproduce and keep the population growing.

Also the Panda's are unable to adapt. Yes their main food source is disappearing fast but shouldn't they adapt to that. To most people's surprise the Panda has got the digestive system of a carnivore not a herbivore, but due to their slow and lazy habits they have resorted to lying around and feeding off a food source they don't have to chase.

So when one says that we are causing the extinction of the giant panda. Quizzically look at them and ask them to consider things.
