Well, gas is a state of matter that has a lot of spread out molecules. Unlike solids and liquids. The solid state of matter is more dense because the mass divided by the volume is more because the molecules are very close together.

What are some examples of how gases are different from liquids and solids?

I can only tell you that gases are does not have a difinite shape and volume . E.g air / nitrogen / carbon dioxide / water vapour / . . .

Do solids expand to a much greater extent than gases when heated?

No, gases expand more than solids when heated.

What are much less in gases than solids and liquids?

Why so solid stays the same size?

The thermal expansion of solids is much lower compared to liquids and gases; the bonding forces between particles are stronger.

If two solids have the same masses but different volumes they have?

If two solids have the same masses but different volumes they have different densities.

Why gases are easier to compress than solids or liquids are?

Because they won't resist as much because in one volume of,gas there are less molecules per unit volume than in the same volume of a liquid or solid. There are less molecules in a gas to push back.

Why are the gases highly compressible while solids are almost incompressible?

gases are highly compressible as there molecules have lots of spaces between them while in molecules of solids there is not much space and they are tightly packed .

Why are gases highly compressiable while solids are almost incompressible?

gases are highly compressible as there molecules have lots of spaces between them while in molecules of solids there is not much space and they are tightly packed .

What units does the us use to measure solids liquids and gas?

This variation is typically small for solids and liquids but much greater for gases.

Which physical properties describe a gas?

The following are the physical properties of gases:-Gases assume the volume and shape of the container.Gases are most compressible of states of matter.Gases will mix evenly and completely when confined to same container.Gases have much lower densities than liquids and solids.Properties ofGASES: usually float, they are in bottle or balloons, they are easy to compress, they expand to fill their containers & they occupy far more space than the liquids of solids from which they form.

Why do you use liquids not solids or gases in thermometers?

because liquids can give us the right temperature but solids and gases

How the motion of particles differ in gases liquids and solids.?

The motion of particles in gasses, liquids, and solids are all different. Gas particles can move much more quickly than solids.
