Because we're an ISLAND NATION ! There is LIMITED space on these islands - we CANNOT just keep letting 'immigrants' come here without restrictions ! There is ALREADY a shortage of housing - without the added burden of providing properties for so-called immigrants to live in ! There are MANY other countries 'immigrants' could settle in - the ONLY reason they head for the UK - is our WELFARE system !
