The CPU in the G4 was a Power PC unit and they just naturally run hot. If yours is running excessively hot then the air inlet may be clogged.
Sims 3 will not work with a G4 iMac. The game requires a recent Mac with an Intel processor.
So hot Mac is drooling over him
Yes. However, Mac OS X 10.5 (Leopard) requires an 867 Mhz G4 processor. Some of the older eMacs do not have a processor this fast, and so cannot run Leopard without third-party workarounds.
Mac OS X 10.3.9 is nearly five years old (which is a long time in computer operating system years) the current version of Mac OS X is 10.5.7. The minimum requirement for the latest version of the Safari browser is 10.4.11. To update your browser you will need to update your version of Mac OS X. Mac OS X 10.5 (Leopard) will work on an iBook G4.
yes the CPU on a computer is always hot while running. The accually CPU it self can get so hot in can couse burns. That is why there are always metal heatsinks to direct airflow and a fan that draws the warm air off. If you do not have a heatsink and a fan the CPU can burn up in almost 1 min.
The G4 iBook came in several versions over its lifetime and the maximum memory varies between 640 MB to a theoretical 1.5 GB depending on the particular version. Having no idea what window 8 mac might be could not say how much memory is required.
Try right clicking (usually ctrl-click if you don't have a right click on your mouse) and then choose something like "save this file" or something like that.
You should be able to find a G4 iBook for under $500 with Mac OS X 10.5 (Leopard). Apple requires at least a G4 (867MHz or faster) processor with 512MB of memory to run Leopard - so anything above that will be fine.
The CPU processes data, so data would be using the CPU.
There were several versions of the G4 PowerBooks between their launch in 2001 and discontinuation in 2006. The early ones did not have built in Wi-Fi support (known as AirPort on Macs) but it could be added as an option. The later models came with AirPort built-in. To check an individual computer select About This Mac from the Apple menu (top left) and click the More Info... button. If an AirPort card is fitted its details will be listed in the Network section.
Yes, that sound card should work perfectly well with a Mac so long as it meets the minimum requirements (G3* 500MHz with OS 9.2.2, 128MB RAM # G4* 500MHz with OS X 10.1.5, 10.2.6 or greater, 256MB RAM). If you aren't sure your machine can run it, open up the About This Mac screen and compare with those specs.
