Osmosis. Osmosis is the diffusion of water. The plant sucks up the water that was died red and it is brought all the way to the petals through the xylem tubes by osmosis. Celery does that too. Most plants do.

if you put a (white flower) in coloured water whatever colour your water is that becomes the flowers new colour...because it's going to take in some of the coloured water.

if you put a flower into a vase of water dyed red, i believe the flower will turn red, my granny would do this with roses, except water with green dye in it and the rose turned green!
