In common rail direct injection (DICOR) engine used in multicylender & main function is to provided the fuel in equal amount of in all cylender & the pressure of the fuel is high for atomised (Vaporized) the fuel & these atomised the fuel is reduces the knoking problem.

A high pressure pump(HPP), driven from Engine shaft, is used to pump in high pressure fuel from the tank and deliver it to the common rail. A common rail is nothing but a hollow shaft to which the fuel is delivered and maintained at a very high pressure of about 2000 bar.during the firing sequence of that particular cylinder, the high pressure electronically operated injector will be opened and fuel with a pressure of about 2000 bar is injected in to the cylinder. This high pressure fuel cloud will be automised completely and leads to complete combustion of the fuel, thus avoiding emission.
