Internal hard disks are inside a computer and are covered by the case
In my 26 years of computer I have never seen Disk drive or Hard drive hyphenated. And notice that in the other answer it is not.
For internal hard drives, the highest I've seen being sold were up to 15000 RPM. Usually hard drives that come with computers pre-installed are at 7200 RPM so it's more than double that.
single harddrive largest i have seen was a western logic that had 10tb storage
the largest I have seen on an emachine computers is a 360GB
I don't really know but the largest hard drive I'v seen is 5 t.b.
If a file is not downloaded to a hard drive then there is no way for it to be found on that hard drive. That's like asking "If a word isn't written on a piece of paper can it still be seen?"
I am pretty sure it does not, as it only uses the hard drive, it does not mess with the MotherBoard, as far as I have seen.
Delete some movies you've already seen, or maybe get a bigger hard drive.
It's both. You can read the data on the disk making it an input device, and you can write data to the disk making it an output device.A floppy disk is a storage device. There is often confusion about this, as the user could be seen to be "inputting data" by inserting a disk or "outputting" by removing it, but in actuality the floppy disk is a storage device.
You can install the hard drive and a cd/cvd disc drive on the same IDE channel, just set jumpers to HDD=Master & optical drive to slave.or if your system supports cable select, set both jumpers to this setting. This solution is usefull if one of your IDE channels has "blown"
It is possible that your external HD has a designated drive letter that has been already taken. I have seen this happen before. Make sure any other external drives ( including flash drives, phones, MP3 players, or any other Mass Storage Device ) are disconnected, then reconnect the drive you are having problems with. If it connects, then that was your problem. Now reconnect your other devices, which SHOULD be auto assigned a drive letter. If another device is now having the same troubles, you will need to manually assign all your devices. One by one connect the devices, and go to CONTROL PANEL, ADMINISTRATIVE TOOLS, COMPUTER MANAGEMENT. Click on the left where it says DEVICE MANAGER. Right-click the drive, and choose change drive letter and path to give the device a permanent drive letter. If two devices have the same drive letter, and are both connected, one will be out of luck, which is what it might be here. If this is not the case, I would check to see that your USB Controllers are installed, and update the drivers as necessary.
Operating system is obviously resides in computer memory which is hard disk. But the main (booting) files are loaded into ROM by bootstrap loader at the time of start of the computer. Have you ever seen your C drive (or the drive which is for system, program files). This drive is on hard disk ... so OPERATING SYSTEM PLACED MAINLY ON HARD DISK...
