Probably because President Obama succeeded where his predecessor, President Bush, did not. President Bush had said he would hunt down Osama bin Laden, but throughout the entire eight years of his presidency, he was never successful at finding him. While Mr. Obama was still a candidate, he promised that if he was elected, he would make capturing or killing Bin Laden a top priority, as well as reducing the strength of Al Qaeda. After he was elected, Mr. Obama did in fact lead the mission to bring Osama Bin Laden to justice, and supervised the successful operation that resulted in Bin Laden's death.
