There are many reasons of why Tibet is of importance to China. First off, Tibet has an enormous amount of uranium. Another is that nuclear weapons is being produced in Tibet for China. China is also dumping nuclear waste into Tibet, ruining their environment.

One of the most important reasons, is China's reputation. Being a communist country, China is all about having the most power. By granting Tibetans their independence, it is a form of submission.
