Cassius was mad.

It is an insult to Cassius for Brutus to condemn Lucius Pella. Cassius had vouched for Pella in letters to Brutus, which Brutus ignored. So in a way Brutus is devaluing Cassius word or honor. Honor was pretty huge for men in Rome.

Cassius is angry because he sees the punishment of Lucius Pella as hypocritical, as he himself has engaged in corrupt activities. Cassius feels that punishing Pella while turning a blind eye to his own actions is unjust. This incident also highlights the moral ambiguity and political intrigue in the play.

Brutus is angry with Cassius because he is the one who suggests betraying and killing Caesar. Although Brutus goes along with it, he lays the blame on Cassius for convincing him.
