This question has many aspects for us to consider, but in the interest of brevity, a few possible reasons for this are:

Jesus emphasized the practice of sharing the "good news" about God (Matt. 4:23, 9:35, 28:16-2). Though some other faiths and religions do include teachings on relating to non-believers (in both positive and negative ways) Christianity places particular emphasis on sharing, not only in terms of information but also with food, community, fellowship and other resources (Eph 4:28; Matt 10:8; Luke 3:11; Acts4:32-6).

Jesus began spreading His teachings and encouraged his followers to do the same at a time and place where language was becoming more unified than at any prior time in history. Languages like Greek (especially) and Aramaic and, to some degree, Latin were widely used in trade and cross-cultural communication. Rome had created a wide empire which favored Greek as a tongue for trade and also encouraged cultures to mix economically. Rome also built great systems of roads and maritime trade, which allowed ideas to travel more rapidly.

The Christian beliefs emphasize purpose and address many universal questions that all people-groups face. The issues of right and wrong, of redemption from personal transgression and guilt and of hope and a purposeful interaction with God are basic needs that many experience, regardless of culture or creed.

The true Christian ideology (despite the inappropriate and small-minded actions of some throughout history) is actually very inclusive. Though Jesus asks for nothing less than total commitment (Matt 10:37), the offer of hope and redemption is extended to anyone who would accept it (Jon 6:37, 3:16;Acts 10:27; Rom 1:16; Matt 8:11).

Unlike quite a few faith and religious ideologies, the view that Jesus had was not of a group that required "special" qualifications to join, but an offer open to people of all races and status, which attracts a greater number of people.

There is a lot more to this question but we only have so much space here.
