God became man in order to save us from our sins. But when He came to earth and was incarnate as man, He gave up nothing of His Infinite Perfection as Divinity, even though while He was on earth He hid His Divinity and died as a man in order to accomplish our salvation.
Jesus was the God man-fully God and fully man yet without sin. Once the prophecy was fulfilled per the resurrection, God ascended to heaven and sits at the right hand of God the father.

Saint Matthew is considered a divine figure in Christianity because he was one of Jesus's twelve apostles, chosen by Jesus himself to spread his teachings. He is the author of the Gospel of Matthew, one of the four Gospels in the New Testament that recount the life and teachings of Jesus. It is believed that Saint Matthew was inspired and guided by the Holy Spirit in writing his Gospel, making his work divinely inspired.
