Well, Guatemala is a small country for many reasons it actually is surrounded by 4 different countries and is in Central America. Surrounded by water it floods a lot increasing water damage so the ends tighten. that is 1 reason it is so small. it is the size of Tennessee and Guatemala City, its capital is the largest city.

∙ 11y agoDuring the break-up of the spanish empire in the americas, el salvador got greedy and tried to annex the surrounding countries. as a result, the other countries decided to annex parts of el salvador so it would never be able to have too much power. kind of what happened to Germany in ww1 and ww2.
