He was sinless and he died and suffered in our place. We deserved the punishment but he took it instead. Now all are able to have eternal life.He made the ultimate sacrifice for us.
Jesus sacrificed himself on the cross for all mankind.
He died for our sins and his death is essential because he was a sacrifice for us to save us from eternal death and sin. Not only the physical punishment of beating was unbearable but the psychological damage that it did to Jesus.
Jesus death is important to Christians today because in His death he paid the price for our sins. This fact applied to people who were there when Jesus walked the earth and it still applies to us today. When we accept this free gift He paid for we have the peace that comes with knowing that we go to heaven [where there is no suffering or pain] when we die. We also have the joy of belonging to a family of people who believe likewise. It doesn't mean we are perfect - mores the pity. Most of us do try to be more Christlike but we often fail, the good news is that we can then go to Christ in prayer and ask forgiveness - again!
Jesus also does miracles today just as He did when He walked the earth. I've experienced them.
Few reasons
This is what our Blessed Lord came to earth to do - to offer Himself as a sacrifice to the Father in reparation for all the sins of mankind. Without His death, we would have no hope of every entering heaven, or even dreaming of it.
But since the very beginning when Adam and Eve fell, God promised that He would rectify things. Our Blessed Lord's death on the cross was Satan's complete and total defeat; but we must each of us believe in Our Blessed Lord's action, and put it into effect in our life.
Our Blessed Lord made salvation possible for everyone who is baptized and believes in Him, but only possible, we must individually make up in our lives what is still lacking in Christ's death (Colossians 1:24), taking up our cross each day and following Him (Matthew 16:24).
It makes possible the forgiveness of all sins.
Blood sacrifice in the temple in Jerusalem.
The crucifiction is important, as it was when Jesus died on the cross for al mankind that sin was abolished. And there is no need to sacrifice any animal for our sins.Jesus died as a sacrifice for sin. To receive forgiveness for you sin you have to believe that Jesus is the son of God and that he died so your sin can be forgiven
It commemorates Jesus' sacrifice, as commanded by him at the Last Supper before his death.
Jesus does not have anything against lambs as He is at one time referred to as the Lamb of God. What is important to note is how a lamb behaves when going to the slaughter. It has no objections and Jesus typifies that when He was offered as a sacrifice.
Everybody is important to Jesus
Christians believe that the laws regarding animal sacrifice were abolished by the sacrifice of Jesus.
If Jesus didn't die as a sacrifice for sin then there would be no Christians. So it is very important for a christian to know what Jesus did and what that means for all people. Today that means a christian can be at peace with God.
As a Christian myself, it symbolises the body and blood of Jesus Christ, our savior. To me, the reason i take communion and it is so important to me that; 1/ I LOVE JESUS 2/ I DO IT BECAUSE I WANT TO ACKNOWLEDGE, REMEMBER AND HONOR THE SACRIFICE HE MADE ON MY BEHALF.
Sacrifice
Because in the Old Testament, a lamb was a sacrifice for sin. Now, Jesus is a sacrifice for our sin.
Jesus was born in order to die for the sins of mankind. He became the perfect, once only, sacrifice for sin. In order to demonstrate His great love for mankind He had to do this by becoming a man. This is referred to as the incarnation.
The death of Jesus is important to Christians because he was perfect. He committed no sins, thus he did not have to die but because he took on the sins of all humanity he was able to be the ultimate sacrifice for humanity's sins for all time. That's why Christians claim that Christ is their salvation.
